Privacy and cookies
What happens to the details you send us, in plain English.
Who we are
This website belongs to RPM Analogue Audio Ltd (company number 13454424), 487 Bearwood Road, Bearwood, Smethwick B66 4BE. We are responsible for the personal details you give us through it.
Questions about your details: rpmanalogueaudioltd@gmail.com or 07939 968 588, or ask in the shop.
What we collect
- When you send a form (a repair enquiry, selling us your hi-fi, or telling us what you're looking for): your name, email and/or phone number, what you've told us about the item, and any photos you add.
- If you tick "Send me RPM's news": that you'd like to hear from us.
- Your internet (IP) address when you send a form, so we can stop the forms being flooded with junk. We clear it after 30 days.
- Standard server logs: like any website, our web host records visits (IP address, pages, browser) to keep the site secure and working.
We don't use analytics, tracking or advertising on this website.
Why, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry, and to arrange a repair, a purchase or a sale. You've asked us to, so this is to take steps you've requested (a contract) or our legitimate interest in replying.
- To send you news, only if you ticked the box. That's your consent, and you can withdraw it any time by telling us.
- To keep the website safe: our legitimate interest in stopping spam and misuse.
Who sees it
Only the people at RPM who deal with enquiries. We never sell your details or pass them on for marketing.
Some companies handle it on our behalf, only as we instruct:
- Design for Good, who host and look after this website on servers in the UK, where the website and the enquiries are stored. Your photos are kept privately, not on the public website.
- Google (Gmail), because each enquiry is also emailed to us. Google may process email outside the UK, under the safeguards UK law requires.
If you use the WhatsApp, phone, email or map buttons, you're using those services directly, under their own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for as long as we're dealing with them, then at most two years, after which they're deleted along with any photos.
- Anything to do with a sale or a repair we've done may be kept longer in our business records, as the law requires.
- News: until you tell us you don't want it any more.
Cookies
The public website doesn't set any cookies. The only cookie is a login cookie in the private editing area, used by the people who run the site.
The website's fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google, which sees your IP address. They aren't used to track you.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. You can also object to how we use them, or withdraw your consent to news. Contact us using the details above and we'll reply within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
